1. I live in Foggy Bottom, but do not work or study at GW, nor am I an alum - can I join the Lerner Health and Wellness Center?

The George Washington University has forged a strong sense of community with our Foggy Bottom neighbors, launching a variety of partnerships that underscore shared interests and needs.  We do have a limited number of community memberships that we can sell.

2. Am I required to sign up and pay for a full year?

We value our patrons, and would love to have you purchase an extended membership, but we know that it is not always practical.  'Annual Memberships' do require a 6-month minimum enrollment. Since we want our patrons to have the membership package that works best for them we have created a monthly option for most of our membership packages.

3. Can I suspend my membership and re-activate it later?

Yes.  Please keep in mind that if you are having payroll deductions taken to pay for your membership "suspending" your membership will put your deductions in a holding pattern, and when you re-activate your membership, the payroll system will automatically go back and collect arrears.  If you plan to be away more than a month or two, we encourage you to terminate your membership and rejoin when you are ready.

4. I am an alum and live in the Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhood.  Can my roommate, who is not an alum, join the gym if I am a member?

Unfortunately, we have limitations on the number of community members we can welcome as members.  For this reason, we have not expanded our membership categories to include friends/roommates of our members.
